Mastering Your Stripology Rulers
Master Your Stripology® Rulers Workshop
Skill Level: Confident Beginner & Up
Class Overview:
Ready to sharpen your skills and get more from your Stripology® Rulers? In this skill-building class,
we’ll go beyond cutting basic strips and squares to explore precise techniques for creating essential
quilting units. You’ll learn how to confidently cut and construct:
- Accurate strips including ¼" strips
- Half-square triangles (HST)
- Quarter-Square Triangles (QST)
- Combination Units
- Flying Geese
Along the way, we’ll cover 60-degree and 45-degree angle cuts, tips and tricks to improve accuracy, and build
confidence in using Stripology Rulers.
What You’ll Learn:
- Mastering ruler alignment for clean, consistent cuts
- Constructing basic units with precision
- Using your Stripology® Rulers to their full potential
- Techniques to save time and improve accuracy
Session 1 will cover:
- Stripology® ruler basics
- Clean and accurate cutting, including ¼” cuts
- Half-square triangles (HST)
- Quarter-Square Triangles (QST)
- Combination Units
Session 2 will cover:
- Flying Geese construction
- Back Home Topper or Leo Quilt (from Master Your Stripology® Rulers book)
What to Bring:
- Required Stripology Supplies for both sessions:
- Master Your Stripology® Rulers book
- Stripology® XL and/or Stripology® Squared Ruler – at least one of these is required.
- GE Easy Ruler Stickers
- Optional: Stripology® Squared Mini
Required Fabric:
- Session 1 – ½ yard of 2 contrasting fabrics (light/dark or 2 different colors). We will use
these to practice techniques and cutting so you can bring “unfortunate” fabrics. You may
want to bring extra scraps to practice cutting.
- Session 2 – Fabric requirements as listed in the Master Your Stripology Rulers book for
either the Back Home Table Topper or the Leo Quilt. (We will discuss this in session 1)
Required General Sewing supplies:
- Rotary cutter (45mm or 60mm with retractable blade)
- Cutting Mat (18x24 recommended)
- Sewing machine & thread
- Basic sewing supplies (pins, scissors, seam ripper, etc.)
- Optional: Small iron and pressing mat
