Finish Your Garment - It’s Easier Than it Seams…

The most ignored step in home garment sewing.  We can’t all have a serger (and do we really use them effectively?).  But, we all need finished seams to make our garments stronger and last longer.  Ideally, the inside of our garments need to be as complete and beautiful as the outside, so don’t forget to clip those threads and finish those raw edges.

In this three hour class, we will explore applied seam finishes and self -  enclosed seam finishes and when to use each.  If you can sew a ?” seam allowance, you are able to succeed at this class.  You will need to bring your sewing machine & pins to construct samples, as I give demonstrations and instructions.  You will also need 24 pre-cut plain (no pattern, light color) cotton canvas pieces, cut into 4”X6” blocks and a fine sharpie marker for labeling

I have my seam samples in a small notebook, but you can use a regular notebook with pocket protectors or an accordion file, or however you would like to organize your samples.  Bring some paper for notes too.

We only have 3 hours for the class, so we will move swiftly, starting promptly.  So be set up and ready to sew!  You may complete your samples at home, if not completed in class!
