Tucker University Sophomore Year

The First semester of sophomore year of Tucker University will continue to introduce students to techniques using tools they acquired during the freshmen year with the exception of the Rapid Fire Hunter's Star Petite tool.

Class 1 - Birds of Paradise:  Grab your Large Square Squared tool and get ready to create beautiful Birds of Paradise.  The Birds of Paradise is an elegant unit with a lot of points that any quilter will want to align.  By using the Large Square Squared tool, quilters can make Birds of Paradise with ease.

Class 2 - Stacked Squares:  Calling all embroidery people.  This is the technique for you to showcase your embroidered blocks without having to use paper foundation piecing.  However, Stacked squares is for everybody.  You can create depth in your quilt tops as well as secondary patterns.

Class 3 - Rapid Fire Hunter's Star:  Take another look at the traditional Hunters Star.  Not only does Deb Tucker make it an easy block to create, but look at how this block plays with some of the other units.  Let your imagination run wild and combine some of your previous techniques with Rapid Fire Hunter's Star blocks.

Class 4 - Eight at Once and Non-mirror Combo Units:  Don't underestimate the power of a half square triangle or combination units.  Learn to make these versatile units accurately and quickly because they are found within many quilt tops.  You will be amazed with the improvements you will experience in your piecing when you use Deb Tucker's methods and tools.

Class 5 - Four Patch Square Up Tool:  And you thought making a four patch unit was so easy.  Well, it is with the Studio 180 Design Four Patch Square Up tool.  Here is your unit.  You will create units slightly oversized and square them up to perfection.

Class 6 - Geese on the Edge:  Jazz up your traditional log cabin block by adding some geese on the edges.  Your friends will think that you paper pieced these units, but you don't have to when you use the Wing Clipper I tool from Deb Tuckers Studio 180 Design.  Your biggest challenge will be how to arrange your units once you begin to discover the possibilities.
