This is a great class for some quick gifts just in time for any holiday! Every hostess loves a new tea towel! Susan will teach you all her tricks & tips for making your machine applique look professional. Machine applique is adorable on little baby bibs, little onesies and of course any quilt you have in mind and afraid to tackle. We will be using a number of applique stitches for this class, even faux hand applique technique she does on the machine. It looks just like hand applique!!! If you are interested in making Susans Tweet Tweet quilt in class just let her know. This class will be all machine applique techniques, no hand applique.

Come be the first to see Kaffe Fassett's newest Artisan Collection! Also, this will be a show and tell for all of you who have made a project (quilt, bag, dress, etc.) using Kaffe fabric. Machine Quilting & Binding This class will combine both machine quilting & binding on one little quilt. We will be working on a Quilt Sandwiches about the size of a placemat & then we will bind them after they are quilted. There will be a multitude of quilting designs we will explore, from using the Walking Foot to Free Motion & if you have the BSR, that will also be covered. Machine quilting takes lots of practice, but this will give you all the tips to make your quilting so much better! Once you try it, you will be hooked!

This class is fun on so many levels! It was inspired from Melissa Averinos new book, “Making Faces in Fabric”. If you have taken Susan’s Machine Quilting Classes this is a great addition to improve those skills. We will first create a simple (funny) face in the morning using fabric collage techniques (and NO you do not have to be a portrait artist!) using unique fabrics, then in the afternoon we will machine quilt all the details such as eyelashes, cheeks, hair, etc. It is easy to create a face if you don’t have to make it look like anyone special. Just play and have fun with it!!! These could be made into placemats, small wall hangings, tote bags, pillows and more! This will be a no stress day of playing with fabric and threads!

Tucker University is a monthly series of fully designed technique classes for the Studio 180 Design Tools and Techniques by Deb Tucker. You may already own one and don?t remember how to use it! This program offers you an exciting opportunity to build your skills and accuracy. In each Tucker University class, a new Studio 180 Design tool is taught each month. We only make 4? units so each month you can combine and create new blocks.
