Classes


With every machine purchase at classes are offered so that you can “master” all that your machine can do for you. We feel that the more you know about your machine, the more you will enjoy your sewing experience. Our students are invited to attend My BERNINA Classes as often as they like. We understand that “reinforcement” leads to true mastery.

Our team includes talented teachers who offer classes such as beginning sewing, quilting, home decoration, crafting, garment construction, and heirloom sewing. Many of our customers have discovered that classes provide the opportunity to learn new techniques, sew without interruption, and build friendships with a diverse group of people bound together by their love of sewing. We hope you will join in on the fun! 

CANCELLATION Policy on fee based classes:  To receive a refund on a class you have paid for, you must notify us at least 24 hours in advance of the first session.  The teacher may decide whether or not to allow a transfer to another class they are teaching.   No refunds or transfers if you are a no-show to the class.

If your class is an all day class, please feel free to bring a lunch and store it in our refrigerator.  Going out to eat can be fun, but takes away from your class time.

Sisterhood Retreats is 12 Themes, 3 projects per theme for a total of 36 projects! Each month in Club, you will make one of the 3 projects, but take home ALL the information (including designs) to make the rest.

These monthly lessons will encourage you to use software in new and creative ways. Each lesson will provide a video lesson featuring a demonstration and explanation of software techniques and step-by-step handouts.

Want a quick easy way to finish a quilt? Learn how to baffle quilts, a quick quilt as you go method. With this technique, you can go from fabric and batting to a finished quilt in just a few hours.

This class is designed to take all the fear out of binding your quilts!  No longer will you be struggling with the mitered corners on those quilts you have worked so hard on.  There will be several binding techniques discussed for different types of quilts.

This presentation is designed to introduce you to the Block on Board (BOB) dies. BOB dies give you the ability to cut an entire block from a single die. This saves even more time when creating a quilt top and other projects. It is perfect for beginning quilters or those new to GO! who might be intimidated by the cutting process. For those who have been using the GO! system for years, this presentation will open up a whole new world of die possibilities.

This two-hour presentation is full of tips and tricks on how to expand beyond the basics of the GO! Fabric Cutting System. Attendees should have already participated in the Cut Time, Quilt More event. During the presentation you'll learn more about GO! Qube Companion Sets-Corners and Angles as well as specialty dies and curved piecing to take your quilting to the next level. Insider techniques will be shared along the way!

Come along and learn to sew! Learn basic sewing skills, how your sewing machine works (You can rent a machine from the store if you need to), and how to make various items, like a buttonhole, quarter-inch seams, and some different kinds of stitches as well. We will sew a tissue holder in this class.

In this class, we will be learning how to make a Burrito-style pillowcase with a French seam. This style of pillowcase is incredibly easy once you know how to do it! Pillowcase kits may be purchased at the store.

My BERNINA Class 1 and 2 - Basic Operation for 880 Plus, 790 Plus, 770QE, 740, 590, 570QE, 535, 480, 475QE, 435 Machine overview, presser feet, tension, needles, thread, care and cleaning of machine and sew much more. In this course you will learn to master your BERNINA Sewing machine. Learn to care for your machine, and how to use specialty functions to customize your machine?s settings to your needs. You?ll learn to use the most important utility stitches on your machine, such as straight stitches, overlock stitches, long stitches, blind hem, and buttonholes. In addition, you?ll learn about the many creative options of your machine, including decorative stitches, combi mode, free-motion stitching and more. We will work step by step through hands-on activities from the My BERNINA Sewing Mastery Workbook.

My BERNINA Class 3 Creative Options 790 and 8-series machines. This class examines the distinctive features and functions that make these models unique and useful additions to your sewing rooms. This beginning quilting class will explore many piecing techniques. You will learn from ground zero how to cut, sew & press each block. We will also talk about products & how they affect the finished quilt. So use the good stuff! Good thread, good fabric, good tools, good skills make for a beautiful finish! Each block will build to create a wall hanging or baby quilt or small lap quilt when finished. You will have a quilt top at the end of class using 3 different piecing techniques and machine applique techniques. Most of all we are going to have fun quilting and making new friends! ? Tucker University is a monthly series of fully designed technique classes for the Studio 180 Design Tools and Techniques by Deb Tucker. You may already own one and don't remember how to use it! This program offers you an exciting opportunity to build your skills and accuracy. In each Tucker University class, a new Studio 180 Design tool is taught each month. We only make 4? units so each month you can combine and create new blocks.

The First semester of sophomore year of Tucker University will continue to introduce students to techniques using tools they acquired during the freshmen year with the exception of the Rapid Fire Hunter's Star Petite tool.
