Classes

With every machine purchase at classes are offered so that you can “master” all that your machine can do for you. We feel that the more you know about your machine, the more you will enjoy your sewing experience. Our students are invited to attend My BERNINA Classes as often as they like. We understand that “reinforcement” leads to true mastery.

Our team includes talented teachers who offer classes such as beginning sewing, quilting, home decoration, crafting, garment construction, and heirloom sewing. Many of our customers have discovered that classes provide the opportunity to learn new techniques, sew without interruption, and build friendships with a diverse group of people bound together by their love of sewing. We hope you will join in on the fun!

If your class is an all day class, please feel free to bring a lunch and store it in our refrigerator.  Going out to eat can be fun, but takes away from your class time.

This class is offered in 2 parts. In Class 1, we analyze our design, design the foundation, prepare our fabrics, and play with fabric to spot the “perfect” eye or “nose” or even an eyelash! Kelly will work with individuals in the first class to analyze their pattern, and make fabric choices, choices, choices! We will also discuss background choices. In the 2nd class, we create our quilt and talk about tricks of placement. This part is so much fun!!! We end with a discussion of finishing options. Students may choose any Laura Heine pattern but if this is your first, students find “Hip Hop Rabbit,” “Purrfect Cat,” or “Emerson Puppy” easier. Contact Kelly if you have questions about your pattern choice. Also, it’s a good idea to pay attention to the size of your finished quilt. Some are much larger than others.
