With every machine purchase at classes are offered so that you can “master” all that your machine can do for you. We feel that the more you know about your machine, the more you will enjoy your sewing experience. Our students are invited to attend My BERNINA Classes as often as they like. We understand that “reinforcement” leads to true mastery.

All About ME

All About ME All About ME! is an in-store, virtual education event that includes a 30-45 minute embroidery presentation by a knowledgeable BERNINA educator . $15 per class which includes CD you will take home covering the class information. If you can’t make the class, but want the CD, sign up and let us know you won’t be able to attend and we will burn you a CD. This is for all embroidery machine owners—not just BERNINA brands.

Applique in the Hoop

This class will teach you how to do applique in the embroidery hoop. We will cover using the proper stabilizers and other supplies to get that professional look without all the sweat and tears.

Bernina Club

Bernina Club - Sew Much Fun! is excited to offer this class where you will have fun exploring new patterns and techniques. Each class will include a Power Point presentation and each student will take home a CD containing all instructional material. Susan Fears, BERNINA educator will present in a recorded webinar.. Binding with Confidence

This class is designed to take all the fear out of binding your quilts!  No longer will you be struggling with the mitered corners on those quilts you’ve worked so hard on.  There will be several binding techniques discussed for different types of quilts.

Cozy Kits

These kits are a fun way to use many different techniques with the embroidery machine. Come explore cutwork, quilting in the hoop, zippers, and creating mesh all in the embroidery hoop. In class we will use cutwork to cut out the applique shapes and apply them to a quilted base, insert a zipper onto mesh that has been stitched in the hoop.

Fat Quarter Shuffle

This scrappy fat quarter busting quilt is beginner friendly and quick to make. Stack fat quarters and then use freezer paper to make a template, cut and shuffle the layers! Once the blocks are pieced we wil use all of the fun decorative stitches in your machine to quilt as you go. It is very easy to make this quilt larger or smaller depending on how many fat quarters you want to use.

Flower Doodles

“Flower Doodles” Let’s play with Wax Pastels & create a water color painting on fabric to brighten those cold winter days. This is a very easy, fun way to paint on fabric. As a bonus you will perfect your machine quilting skills & create a beautiful little quilted wall hanging. Flower Power Strip of the Month

Lets use the stitches on your machine to quilt this fun throw. We will be quilting a strip each month, and then putting our strips together during the last class. Learn that there is no such thing as the wrong stitch when it comes to this throw.

Imaginary Day Embroidery Block of the Month

This is a machine applique quilt project done in the hoop. It is a modern twist on traditional crewel work that will make a lap (60 x 60) or a bed size (84x 84) size quilt. The classes (6) will cover different machine embroidery techniques, including printing on fusible web, cutwork and tack and trim. You can test out different methods and maybe find a new favorite. We will also cover multi-hooping, all of the designs are split to fit in a large hoop (127mm x 178 mm hoop).

In the Hoop Textured Scarf

Do you have a yarn stash in addition to your fabric stash, or have you seen yarn that you wish you could use in a project? Then, this class is for you. Come and learn how you can use your Bernina embroidery software to create a design to be used with yard to create a scarf that is stitched in the hoop. Machine Applique and Beyond

Do you want perfect applique? Well this is the class for you! Never be afraid of applique again after you learn all the easy ways to make it perfect! Spend some time with Susan & you will be able to applique anything you want. These techniques can be used on clothing, quilts, pillows, purses, curtains, anything that will stay still can be appliqued. We will use may different stitches & fabrics. There will be at least 4 different applique techniques for you to perfect. Beginner - Intermediate skill level

Machine Quilting Techniques

Machine Quilting Techniques Take the stress out of machine quilting by learning the tricks to make it easier. You will learn lots of techniques for free-motion quilting, from stippling to flowers & feathers. Mountain Moon

This is Susans newest quilt design using her faux hand applique technique we are doing by machine! Circles are so much fun to make, especially when you can applique them perfectly with this unique technique. So start collecting your fabrics for all these fun circles. We will applique the circle on a solid or nearly solid fabric & then cut them apart into quarters.... big ones & little ones & then play with mixing & matching for the blocks! This makes a great modern look quilt using taupe, gray, white or other color backgrounds to make the colors pop! There is also a unique colorful pieced binding for this unique quilt!

Quilt Beginnings

Quilt Beginnigs will explore many piecing techniques. You will learn from ground zero how to cut, sew & press each block. We will also talk about products & how they effect the finished quilt. So use the good stuff! Good thread, good fabric, good tools, good skills make for a beautiful finish! Each block will build to create a wall hanging or baby quilt when finished. This could be done slightly differently to make a lap size quilt if you like. Most of all we are going to have fun quilting! This is a 4 part class.

Recycled Jeans Jacket

I found the inspiration for this jacket in my Dad's old blue jeans. I had been looking for a way to make something out of them other than a blanket or a bag. I love the way you can see the faded parts of the knees and stains that come with well-loved jeans and I have a part of my Dad every time I wear it. With 3 pairs of old jeans and a little bit of creativity you can make a jacket that will be certain to turn heads. There are no set in seams so it is beginner friendly.

In this class, we will revisit digitizing. This session will include a review of digitizing tools as well as the thought process used when approaching the digitizing process. There will also be time to share tips about digitizing that you have learned from your experiences with digitizing.

This session will include a review of the tools for creating applique as well as the thought process uses when approaching applique. Software Sampler

Software Sampler Sew Much Fun! is hosting a virtual software presentation by a BERNINA Educator. Each month will include a software lesson with instructions for the various levels of BERNINA Embroidery Software. You will also receive instructions for using your new software knowledge to create a project and have an opportunity to try your hand at a number of embroidery and embellishment techniques. Each session is $15 if software was purchased from Sew Much Fun! ($30 each if software was purchased elsewhere). You will also be able to take home the design because it will be in its’ final form on the CD you will receive. If you can’t make the class, but want the CD, sign up and let us know you won’t be able to attend and we will burn you a CD. If you have been wondering about the software and want to come sit in on the demonstration, please come as our guest! We do ask you to sign up so we can arrange the classroom appropriately.
