Classes

With every machine purchase at classes are offered so that you can “master” all that your machine can do for you. We feel that the more you know about your machine, the more you will enjoy your sewing experience. Our students are invited to attend My BERNINA Classes as often as they like. We understand that “reinforcement” leads to true mastery.

Our team includes talented teachers who offer classes such as beginning sewing, quilting, home decoration, crafting, garment construction, and heirloom sewing. Many of our customers have discovered that classes provide the opportunity to learn new techniques, sew without interruption, and build friendships with a diverse group of people bound together by their love of sewing. We hope you will join in on the fun!

CANCELLATION Policy on fee based classes:  To receive a refund on a class you have paid for, you must notify us at least 24 hours in advance of the first session.  The teacher may decide whether or not to allow a transfer to another class they are teaching.   No refunds or transfers if you are a no-show to the class.

If your class is an all day class, please feel free to bring a lunch and store it in our refrigerator.  Going out to eat can be fun, but takes away from your class time.

Quilted Duffle Bag You can make a beautiful quilted weekend bag that rivals a popular designer! Using a pattern book by Cindy Taylor Oates, this class will be conducted over two days so that you can complete this project after attending both classes. On the first day, we will cut and quilt the fabric for the bag and pockets. In the second class, we will construct the bag with pockets and the zipper closure. This bag would make a great gift for anyone who uses a weekend type bag. You select the size, shape and fabric for your bag. I used Annie?s Soft and Stable for my bag, that you may see in person, at Sew Much Fun. You will find that Soft and Stable product and others like it, give your bag and firm shape that will last. I do not recommend using batting as the stabilizer. Give consideration to your fabric choice as directional fabrics, or specific designs that might need to match at the sides, will be challenging. Fabrics that are one way will produce a bag that is upside down on one side due to the unique construction of this bag. I do recommend overall prints that are not directional or do not have specific lines or designs to match. Your biggest challenge may be selecting from all the beautiful fabrics that are offered at Sew Much Fun and deciding which size and shape you wish to make.
